Yoga Arts is founded by Preston Whaley Jr. and Carrie Price Whaley. The studio opened in 2008. Preston is the teacher. His yoga training goes back to 2004 and continues to this day with his studies in the yoga tradition with Blue Throat Yoga. Preston has a background of graduate study in comparative religion, a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Seminary, and a Ph.D. in the Humanities from Florida State. Carrie and Preston live and work in the Village of the Arts, Bradenton, FL and they have two kids, Otis and Imogene. .
