About Yoga Arts Instructor Preston Whaley Jr.
I am founder and owner of Yoga Arts, established in August, 2008, located in the Village of the Arts, Bradenton, Fl., where I live with my wife, Carrie, and our two kids — Otis, and Imogene. I have been teaching yoga for 14 years. I first came to yoga through my interest in meditation stemming from my years in divinity school and the study of comparative religions at the University of Florida. Participation in the physical aspects of yoga came later in 2002, when I found that certain yoga poses relieved the sciatica pain that afflicted my hips and legs on both sides. It was the realization that yoga was a wholistic practice that set yoga apart from pure exercise or just spiritual contemplation. The transition from practitioner to teacher happened naturally. I love teaching and practicing!
